Later, the owner of Moore Appliance Service called my back and kindly notified me that before issuing a refund they had to make sure that MY payment had come in. After all, if I'd stopped my check and they issued one, that would be a mess.

So Saturday morning we found the refrigerator was not working at all, and the interior temperature of the refrigerator had risen to ambient.
On Thursday I called many providers and found that Moore Appliance Service could visit Friday which was before any one else could. We were informed that there was a $100 service charge for the visit.
Good people with the know how to fix without multiple trips
We called the serviceman that Saturday morning and he denied that he didn't give my wife a pre-repair estimate. His advice to us was to call Moore Appliance Service on Monday.
I believe our techs name was Steve! He was wonderful, did a great job and was truly genuine while being informative! We have had them come out to fix our dryer twice (for two totally separate issues) but they have come through both times. Definitely will call with any appliance needs and would recommend them to everyone!
I called Moore Appliance Service about this and the Service manager wasn't in so I left a message.
2) BEFORE any repairman from anywhere starts working be sure it's clear that no additional charges will be made without your APPROVAL IN WRITING!
My home warranty outsourced to them for a problem with my dishwasher. The repairman came out diagnosed the problem. A few days later he returned along with another repairman, they repaired the dishwasher quickly and we're very professional
That makes sense and its good that they took the time to reassure me.
WE found our refrigerator stopped working Thursday morning. I knew there was a problem because even though all the fans and compressor seemed to be working, the condensing coil was at room temperature. (The condensing coil should be very warm IF the refrigeration cycle was working properly.)
It's the Friday of that week and I haven't seen any refund yet, hopefully it'll arrive soon.
Serviceman arrived on Friday and in maybe 30 minutes had the refrigerator cooling down and gave my wife an invoice with a charge of $314.77. No estimate, no approval for repair, just an invoice that was not itemized and a note describing what he had done, which was: replaced an "overload device".
I came home after work and the interior temperature of the refrigerator seemed stuck at about 66 degrees and noticed the condensing coil was at room temperature. We decided to let the refrigerator run overnight and see if it would cool down further.
Had a very information service call with Joe Thompson from Moore Appliance. He took the time to explain the problem and come up with possible solutions...good do-able solutions. He wanted my refrigerator up and going again as much as I did. The visit was expensive, but worth it. I will definitely use Moore Appliance again
My personal advice?
So on Monday I called Moore Appliance Service and the Service manager there apologized for what happened and said that Moore Appliance Service would refund all but the charge for the visit plus tax.
